Our sloppy Joe pie features a biscuit crust filled with meat filling cooked in a delicious sloppy Joe tomato sauce.
Ingredients
1¼ pounds very lean ground beef
1 cup sweet yellow onion, finely diced
2 teaspoons fresh minced garlic
15.5 ounces sloppy Joe sauce
3 cups shredded cheddar jack cheese, divided into 2 cups and 1 cup
1 cup bisquick mix, or generic version
2 tablespoon bisquick mix, or generic version
1 tablespoon onion powder
½ teaspoon kosher salt
½ teaspoon cracked black pepper
⅔ cup whole milk
1 large egg, beaten
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 375°F. Lightly spray a 9-inch deep-dish pie pan with nonstick spray. Set it aside.
Using a 4 to 5 quart saucepan over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef, diced onion, and fresh minced garlic for 4 to 5 minutes, stirring often until the ground beef is no longer pink. Remove from the heat.
Add the sloppy joe sauce and stir to combine completely.
