White Pizza with Garlic Pizza Sauce

Equipment

  • small saucepan
  • whisk
  • pizza pan or baking sheet

Ingredients

Garlic Pizza Sauce Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoon butter unsalted
  • 2 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  •  cup whole milk
  • ¼ teaspoon sea salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 3 cloves of garlic very finely chopped (3 tsps of jarred minced garlic)
  • ¼ cup parmesan cheese freshly grated

Pizza Ingredients:

  • 1 pizza crust homemade or store bought
  • 8 oz low moisture mozzarella cheese grated
  • ½ cup parmisan garlic sauce (recipe above)
  • ¼ cup parmesan cheese grated
  • ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil

Garnish:

  • 2 tablespoon fresh basil chiffonade

Instructions

Garlic Pizza Sauce Instructions:
  • In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt butter.
  • Whisk in flour. Continue whisking for about 2 minutes. Do not brown.
    Flour and butter whisked to make a roux.
  • Slowly whisk in milk. Whisk continually until the mixture is smooth, thick and bubbly, about 3-5 minutes.
    Cream added to roux.
  • Add ¼ teaspoon sea salt, ¼ teaspoon black pepper and 3 cloves of finely chopped garlic. Whisk to combine.
    Seasonings poured into pot.
  • Add parmesan cheese. Whisk until just melted. Remove from heat.
    Cheese on top of cream in pot.
  • Allow to cool before using or cover and refrigerate for up to 5 days.
