Zuccotto ice cream with stracciatella: the recipe for a quick and delicious dessert

Stracciatella-Eis

Savoiardi-Kekse
300 gr
Coffee
250 ml
Rum
1/2 Voice
Unsweetened cocoa powder

The zuccotto gelato is a fresh dessert and super delicious, perfect when you want a quick sweet treat without turning on the oven. Simple and accessible to everyone, it is the summer and no-cook variant of the Florentine zuccotto, a great classic of the Tuscan pastry shop .
To prepare it you only need some ladyfingers (or sponge cake) and your favorite ice cream at home and that’s it. In our recipe the ladyfingers are soaked in coffee drink and rum, then arranged in a hemispherical mold and interspersed with creamy layers of stracciatella ice cream. Served very cold and sprinkled with bitter cocoa powder, it is ideal to serve at the end of a dinner with friends.
As a base you can use ladyfingers, sponge cakes (also cocoa), biscuit dough, but also leftovers from a previously prepared donut or cake.
For a non-alcoholic variant , suitable for the little ones in the house, you can replace the coffee and rum syrup with milk or sugar syrup; if you want, you can also use another liqueur, such as alchermes or rum.
For the filling, however, you can choose the ice cream you prefer or have available at home: coffee, chocolate, fruit… For even more spectacle, you can use two different flavors of ice cream alternating in layers. Finally, you can garnish the zuccotto with melted chocolate, whipped cream, sugar sprinkles or red fruits as you like.
