Ingredients for white truffles
Vanilla Wafers – Use any brand of your favorite vanilla wafers
White Chocolate: Use high quality chocolate
Dried coconut – be sure to use unsweetened coconut
How to make white truffles
To prepare the truffle mixture, first crush the vanilla cookies. You can do this with a food processor or place them in a plastic bag and mash them with a rolling pin. Place the crumbs in a large bowl.
Melt the white chocolate and mix with the wafer crumbs.
Take a tablespoon of the truffle mixture and form it into a ball. Spread with dried coconut. Continue until all of the truffle mixture is used up.
How to Melt White Chocolate
White chocolate can be easily melted in the microwave. Place the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl, then heat for 20 seconds at 100% power (or 30 seconds at 50% power). Stir and repeat the process until all the chocolate is melted.
SuggestionsTo prevent the mixture from sticking to your hands, rub your hands with a little coconut oil before shaping the truffles.
If you live in a hot area, the truffles may be too soft. In this case, you can put this mixture on a large plate and let it cool in the refrigerator for about 2 hours.
To get the same size truffles, use a small scoop of ice cream to measure portions.
Instead of coating the truffles in shredded coconut, sprinkle them with more melted white chocolate and sprinkle with freeze-dried strawberries.
