Vanillekipferl: the original Austrian recipe for vanilla biscuits in croissant form

The vanilla crescents are rustic and fragrant sweets made with almond flour based on the Austrian gastronomic tradition. Originally from Vienna , but also widespread in Germany, Trentino-Alto Adige and the Bohemia region, they are nothing more than biscuits with the unmistakable crescent shape and with the characteristic vanilla aroma ( Vanillakipferl literally means “vanilla crescent”), usually offered to friends and relatives during the Advent period to celebrate together. Preparing them at home is very simple. All you have to do is mix the soft butter with the sugar, then add the egg yolks, vanilla extract and almond flours and almond flour to the prepared cream.
