Soft Croissant Donuts: You Won’t Be Able to Stop at Just One!

In a bowl, dissolve the fresh yeast and sugar in the lukewarm water. Let it sit for about 10 minutes, until the mixture foams slightly.
Gradually add the flour to the liquid mixture and mix well.

Then add the semolina, vanilla sugar, orange zest, salt, vegetable oil and baking powder. Knead until you get a smooth and homogeneous dough.
Let the dough rest in a warm place for about 30 minutes, or until doubled in size.
On a lightly floured work surface, roll out the dough to a thickness of about 1 cm.
Cut out croissant shapes using a cookie cutter or knife.
Let the donuts rise again for 20 minutes.

Heat the cooking oil in a deep frying pan or deep fryer. Once the oil is hot, gently lower the donuts into the oil and fry until golden brown.
Drain the donuts on paper towels.
Sprinkle generously with sugar before serving. Enjoy warm for optimal enjoyment!
