Smoked bacon and cheddar scones

I love scones , those soft British buns with crispy, crumbly edges, so I changed from sweet scones and opted for this recipe for smoked bacon and cheddar scones . They are delicious, shortbread and melting.

INGREDIENTS

250g of flour
1 teaspoon of sugar
2 and 1/2 teaspoons baking powder 16 g
2 teaspoons garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon chili flakes optional
2 tablespoons dried chives or parsley

110 g grated cheddar or Emmental cheese, Gruyère
115 g of unsalted butter
160 g cold fermented milk plus 1 tablespoon for brushing
1 large egg
100 g smoked turkey bacon or other

INSTRUCTIONS

In a bowl, mix together flour, sugar, baking powder, garlic powder, chili flakes, salt and pepper. Stir in parsley.
Add the butter cut into pieces to the flour mixture and work it with a fork or your fingers until the mixture becomes sandy and crumbly.
