Savija with prunes and walnuts

Making of:

Five minutes before the end, add lemon slices, and at the very end, add rose water. Remove from the stove and leave to cool.

Soak prunes in hot water for about 10-15 minutes and strain. Melt the butter and add sour water to it. Add sugar and vanilla sugar to the walnuts and mix. Prepare a 35×27 cm pan.

The crusts I used are of medium thickness. These ingredients make a total of 6 benders (2 peels are needed for each bender).

Spray the first crust with a mixture of butter and sour water using a kitchen brush. Spread a handful of walnuts (approx. 1-1/2) on top. Place another crust over the walnuts and repeat the same procedure. Arrange the prunes thickly along the shorter edge of the crust and carefully roll up. Transfer the dough into the prepared pan.

Repeat the same with the other crusts. When we have arranged all the benders in the pan, cut them into pieces of the desired size with a sharp knife.

Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 35-40 minutes or until the pastry rolls get a nice brown color.

Pour the cooled agda hot over the baked saviors several times, until they absorb all the liquid.

Cool for a few hours in the fridge before serving.
