The plum cake with chocolate chips is a dessert soft and delicious, perfect for breakfast or snack for adults and children. This is the richest and tastiest version of the classic yogurt plum cake and can be prepared in just a few minutes using only electric whisks: all you need to do is mix the eggs with the sugar, milk and butter, then add the flour, yeast and finally the lightly floured chocolate chips. This trick, in fact, ensures that the drops do not sink into the dough, giving a final result with a melting consistency and a balanced flavor.
Once you have taken it out of the oven and it has cooled, you can cut it into slices and enjoy it in all its splendor with a cup of latte or hot tea.
You can sprinkle the surface with a little icing sugar and also serve it at the end of the meal with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a spoonful of crème anglaise.
You can use dark chocolate chips, but also milk or white chocolate chips. If you choose the last two options, reduce the amount of sugar to 110 g.
If you prefer, you can omit the butter and replace it with the same amount of plain yogurt, Greek yogurt or vanilla yogurt. You can also add a teaspoon of vanilla extract, the seeds of a berry or a pinch of ground cinnamon to obtain an even more aromatic and enveloping plum cake.
