Pear and Chocolate Cake Recipe

Preheat the oven to 180°C (fan-assisted).
Melt the butter in the microwave.
In a bowl, whisk the eggs with the seeds from the scraped vanilla pod and the sugar until frothy. Gradually

add the flour sifted with the baking powder. Then add the melted butter and a pinch of salt.
Pour half of the dough into a previously buttered and floured mold. Arrange a layer of pears cut into slices on the dough.
Spread half of the crushed chocolate chips over the pears.

Cover with the remaining dough, then place another layer of pear slices on top.
Sprinkle the surface with brown sugar and remaining chocolate chips. Dot with small knobs of butter.

Bake for about 45 minutes, or until the cake is golden brown and caramelized.
Allow to cool before unmolding and serving.
