Instructions
FIRST STEP:
Using a blender or food processor, pulse the Nilla Wafers until they form a good crumb
Add ½ cup sugar and the melted butter and pulse again
Spray a 9 inch Springform pan with a nonstick spray
SECOND STEP:
Spread the cookie crumb mixture on the bottom of the prepared pan. Press on the bottom and slightly up the sides of the pan
Place the pan into the freezer for 30 minutes
THIRD STEP:
In a large mixing bowl beat together the cream cheese and 1 cup of granulated sugar until creamy.
Set this to the side temporarily
FOURTH STEP:
In another bowl whisk the orange jello and the boiling water together until the jello is dissolved
FIFTH STEP:
In another mixing bowl whip the heavy cream, vanilla extract, confectioners sugar and the orange zest until you form stiff peaks
SIXTH STEP:
Combine half of this mixture with the orange jello mixture and the other half of the mixture with with the cream cheese mixture
You will then alternate spreading these mixtures in the prepared pan, starting with the cream cheese mixture and ending with the whipped cream mixture.
Place into the refrigerator for 4 hours, or overnight to fully set the cake.
