Irish Soda Bread: the easy recipe for traditional Irish quick bread

Ingredients

All purpose flour
1 1/2 cups
wholemeal flour
1 1/2 cups
Baking soda
1 teaspoon
this
1 1/2 teaspoon
Buttermilk
1 1/2 cups

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 425°F.
Step 1
Mix 1 cup of white flour and wholemeal flour, salt and baking soda.
2nd step
Stir in buttermilk until dough comes together.
Step 3
Lightly flour a work surface. Turn the dough over and knead it until a smooth ball forms. If necessary, add more flour.
Step 4
Sprinkle the dough ball with flour. Place it on a baking sheet or large dish lined with parchment paper. Make a deep cross in the dough using a knife.
Step 5
Bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until golden brown.
Step 6
Slice, serve and enjoy!
