Easy Apple Cake

Preparation of the dough:
In a bowl, sift and mix the flour with the baking powder.
In another bowl, beat the eggs with the sugar and a pinch of salt until frothy.
Gently fold the sifted flour into the egg mixture and add the melted butter, then beat again until you have a smooth dough.
Add half of the apples cut into small cubes and mix well.

Assembly and Cooking:
Preheat your oven to 180°C.
Butter a 22 cm diameter mold and pour the dough into it.
Arrange the remaining apples, cut into slices, on the surface of the dough so as to cover it completely and sprinkle with a little sugar.
Bake for about 45 minutes. Check the cooking with a toothpick.
Let the cake cool before unmolding.

Finishing :
Once the cake is unmolded and cooled, brush the surface with apricot jam (or your choice) to give it shine.

Notes:
If you prefer a very moist cake, you can add an extra apple to the batter.
Adjust the cooking time if you are using a different size pan.
You can substitute gelatin or another golden-colored jam, such as tangerine or peach, for the apricot jam, depending on your preference and what you have available.
