If you’ve been following our recipes, you’re likely aware of our deep appreciation for cream cheese. Its richness, creaminess, and irresistibly delicious flavor enhance a variety of dishes. While we’ve explored numerous baked goods featuring cream cheese, the idea of incorporating it into a light and airy cake recently sparked our culinary creativity. After a few rounds of testing, I am delighted to present the ultimate Cream Cheese Cake.

Ingredients:

  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, at room temperature
  • 3/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 ½ teaspoons salt
  • 1 ¼ cups buttermilk

Frosting:

  • 1 cup butter, at room temperature
  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, at room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 4-5 cups powdered sugar
