Banana – chocolate – cake

Cook a pudding from pudding powder, sugar and milk according to the package instructions and let it cool slightly (but it should still be warm, stirring occasionally). Stir in the squeezed and dissolved gelatine (I always do this in the microwave at approx. 500 watts in about 20-30 seconds so that it is just dissolved – you can tell when stirring whether there are still any lumps). Beat 300 g of cream until stiff and fold in. Spread the pudding on the cake and let it set in the fridge.

Melt the dark chocolate in a water bath, then let it cool slightly (but not completely) and stir in the remaining liquid cream with a whisk. Spread on the cake. Decorate with chocolate shavings as desired and leave to set briefly in the refrigerator until ready to eat.
