Shipwreck Stew

Shipwreck Stew likely began to be a mainstay back in the days of the depression. There have been many variations of the recipe over the numerous years. The point is that the stew is an economical and hearty meal that will help to stretch the grocery budget. This stew is hearty, it is filling and takes just a few simple ingredients.

Ingredients

2 pounds ground beef, or meat of your choice
6 to 8 small yukon gold potatoes, cubed
1 large white onion, chopped
6 stems of celery, sliced thin
2 cans of dark red kidney beans, do not drain the liquid
2 cans of whole kernel corn with the liquid
2 large cans of diced tomatoes, with the liquid. I like to use stewed tomatoes for the extra boost of flavor
Salt and pepper to taste, optional

Instructions

FIRST STEP:
In a large stock pot, crumble the ground beef and cook thoroughly
