NO BAKE BUTTERFINGER PIE

Because there’s no oven needed, this creamy No Bake Butterfinger Pie is a great dessert to make with kids – or to eat with them.

CAN YOU CHILL THE PIE FOR LONGER THAN TWO HOURS?
Yes! It needs to stay in the freezer at least two hours, but it will set even better overnight. In fact, you can make it up to two days in advance and serve it ice-cold out of the freezer.

CAN YOU MAKE IT WITH REAL WHIPPED CREAM INSTEAD OF COOL WHIP?
You can, but it’s a bit more work. Use one cup of heavy whipping cream and whip it with an electric mixer until stiff peaks form. Then fold it into the cream cheese-peanut butter mixture. Make sure to chill the cream well ahead of time so it whips better.

DO BUTTERFINGER BARS CONTAIN GLUTEN? HOW CAN I MAKE THIS RECIPE GLUTEN FREE?
They don’t, but the Oreo cookie crust in this recipe does. However, you can make the recipe gluten-free by making your own cookie crust from your favorite crunchy gluten-free cookie. Crush up about 6 ounces of the cookies into fine crumbs in your food processor, or put them into a zip-top bag and run over them with a rolling pin. Then measure out around 1 2/3 cups of crumbs into a bowl and mix in a quarter-cup of melted butter and three tablespoons of sugar. Press the mixture evenly into the inside of your pie pan and chill it until it’s set.
