Apple-Cinnamon “Languages” Cookies

Preparation of the filling:
Start by peeling the apple and removing the core. Cut the flesh into thin slices and transfer them to a pan.
Sprinkle apple slices with 2 tablespoons sugar and cinnamon. Caramelize in 1 tablespoon melted butter until tender and lightly browned. Set aside.

Preparation of the dough:
In a bowl, beat the egg with a pinch of salt and the vanilla sugar. Add the rest of the sugar and mix well.
Add the milk and 50 g of melted butter to the mixture. Then add the baking powder and gradually add the flour, mixing until you obtain a soft and smooth dough.

Forming the biscuits:
On a lightly floured work surface, roll out the dough into a thin layer. Cut out circles using a cookie cutter.
Place a small amount of filling in the center of each circle, then fold them in half, like a book, to enclose the filling.

Cooking :
Preheat the oven to 180°C. Place the cookies on a baking sheet covered with baking paper.
Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, until cookies are golden brown.

Finishing :
Let the cookies cool on a wire rack. Before serving, sprinkle them lightly with icing sugar for a delicious finishing touch.
These crispy-on-the-outside, chewy-on-the-inside apple-cinnamon cookies are perfect with a cup of tea or hot cocoa. Their quick preparation and comforting taste make them the perfect choice for spontaneous indulgences. Whether you enjoy them alone during a sweet break or share them with family, they promise to become a staple in your culinary repertoire.
